The rules of play
Booking terms
The practical agreement between you and Fancy A Game? when you create an account or book a fixture.
Last updated: 20 August 2026
1. The service
Fancy A Game? lists and operates friendly local football fixtures. A listing states the date, time, venue, expected format, capacity and per-player price. We may use a trusted assigned host for a particular fixture, but Fancy A Game? remains responsible for operating the booking.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate account and contact information, keep your login secure and tell us promptly if you think your account has been misused. Unless a fixture expressly says otherwise, players must be 18 or over. You may not book for another person without their permission.
3. Places, holds and payment
Requesting an available place creates a temporary payment hold. The page shows when that hold expires. Your place is not confirmed until payment is successfully verified or we expressly mark it complimentary.
Payments are processed securely by the payment provider shown at checkout. Do not send card details to us by email or message. If a checkout is abandoned or payment cannot be verified, the hold may expire and the place may be released.
When a game is full, an enabled waitlist records players in order. Joining it is not a confirmed place and does not itself create a charge. If promoted, you must pay within the new hold time shown or offered.
4. Cancellations, refunds and credit
The cancellation cutoff and the distinction between cancelling a place and receiving money back are set out in our dedicated policy. That policy forms part of these terms.
Read the cancellation and refund policy5. Player and venue conduct
Arrive in time, bring suitable kit, follow the venue rules and treat players, hosts, venue staff and neighbours with respect. Dangerous, abusive, discriminatory or persistently disruptive behaviour is not accepted. We may remove or suspend a player where reasonably necessary to protect a fixture or the community.
6. Football and personal safety
Football is a physical activity and carries an inherent risk of injury. You are responsible for deciding whether you are fit to take part, using suitable footwear and equipment, and stopping if you feel unwell or unsafe. Tell the organiser about an immediate safety issue. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Fixture changes and availability
Weather, venue availability, player numbers or safety concerns may require a time, pitch, host or fixture change. We will use the booking contact details to tell affected players about a material change. We do not guarantee that every listed fixture will take place, but we will apply the cancellation policy when we cancel one.
8. Your legal rights
These terms do not reduce any rights you have under applicable consumer law. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without preventing a consumer from relying on mandatory rights that apply where they live.
9. Contact
Questions about a fixture or these terms can be sent to hello@fancyagame.co.uk. Do not include payment-card details.
