For organisers

Host terms

The agreement between you and Fancy A Game? when you host your own game and take bookings through it.

Last updated: 20 October 2026

In plain English It is your game: you book the pitch, run it, and players pay you through your own Stripe account. We provide the booking pages, payments, reserves list and reminders. Hosting is free. Treat your players fairly, cancel only when you must, and use their details only to run your game.

1. Who does what

You are the organiser of your game and the seller of its places. You decide the venue, time, numbers and price, and you are responsible for the game going ahead as described.

Fancy A Game? provides the service you use to list your game by link, take bookings and payments, run a reserves list and message your players. We are not the organiser of hosted games and do not sell their places.

2. Payments and fees

Card payments for your game are taken by Stripe into your own Stripe account and paid out to your bank by Stripe. To take payments you must complete Stripe's checks and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Fancy A Game? does not hold your money.

Hosting is free. You receive the price you set for each place. Players paying by card are charged a booking fee, shown to them before they pay, which covers card processing and the Fancy A Game? service and is kept by Fancy A Game?.

If you allow cash on the night, collecting it is between you and your players.

You are responsible for any tax on what you receive and for keeping your own records.

3. Cancellations, refunds and disputes

Players may cancel up to 24 hours before kick-off and have the place price refunded to their card from your Stripe balance. After that, paid places are not refunded automatically, though you may refund a player yourself.

If you cancel a game or a booking, or it is called off for lack of players, every player affected is refunded the price of their place to their card from your Stripe balance. The booking fee is not refunded.

If a player disputes a payment with their bank, the dispute is raised on your Stripe account and handled under Stripe's rules. Respond through Stripe with any evidence you have.

Cancel only when you must, and as early as you can. Repeated late cancellations may lead us to pause your hosting.

4. Running your game

Describe your game accurately, keep its details up to date, and turn up and run it as described. Book and pay for the venue yourself and follow its rules.

Take reasonable care of your players' safety, deal fairly with problems on the night, and do not allow abusive, discriminatory or dangerous behaviour. You may want your own insurance; we do not insure hosted games.

5. Your players and their details

You can see the names and booking details of players in your game. Use them only to run your game and contact your players about it, and keep them private.

Fancy A Game? will not message your players about other games unless they have chosen to receive those alerts, and will never send alerts naming your group or aimed only at your players.

Your WhatsApp group stays yours. If you add its invite link, we show it to players who book.

6. Pausing or ending hosting

You can stop hosting at any time by pausing your game; bookings already made should still be honoured or cancelled and refunded. We may pause or end your hosting if you break these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse, or if Stripe stops supporting your account.

7. Responsibility and the law

We are responsible for providing the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for how a hosted game is run, for the venue, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will tell hosts about important changes before they apply. Questions can be sent to hello@fancyagame.co.uk.
